Have to love titles which don’t really have a lot to do with the subject, heh. At the moment I am working on my second project (fourth module – confusing, I know), which is a bowl. Mines suppose to be a city in a bowl.
So since I don’t have pictures (I’ve been trying to take a good picture of the crescent moon) so I’m going to try and paint you a picture. Imagine a copper bowl, about 150mm in diameter. Got it? Now picture nickel skyscrapers, all different shapes and sizes, within the bowl. Some windows sawed out, whilst other squarely indented. Still with me? Finally, imagine the central prism skyscraper – the sawed out window side – it sits above the rest…and has an extra sparkle. Now picture it with one of the sawed out windows replaced with a gemstones. Clear cz (cubic zirconia). Bezel setting. Can you picture the whole thing now? Nope, thought my description was rubbish.
Anyway, I’ve only got as far as scoring out my metal, and even that’s not completely done because I’ve been trying to get the scoring machine to hold the metal steady. Turns out one of the screws were buggered. Then I waited for hand scoring tools, for what seemed like ages – I can’t blame the lecturer though because there is 32+ students in the class. Up until then I took the initiative (yes, clever me
) to look for other resources. Not such look but the lecturer got around to me and even sharpened the tool to suit the angles of scoring. I can see tomorrow being a day of getting angels right. I took this course in hope of avoiding maths…obviously I drank one too many bowls of herbal tea whilst filling the acceptance form.
Haha, just kidding of course.
So many things to do and so little time (two weeks). Looks like I’m also going to have to stay late some days. Maybe I should ask Santa for a workbench, complete with tools.
Welcome to my - Annie's - personal blog. Here is where you can read my ramblings and feeble attempts at humour.

Oh that sounds soooo pretty – can you post pictures when it’s done?

^ I’ll try and get it finished first. Then I may….if it looks pretty.
