Today, for the first time in so many months, I logged into MySpace.  It has changed quite a bit (understatement) and become an almost mirror of Facebook.

I didn’t bother to have a snoop around as I only logged in to delete my account1.  All I got from first glance was the similarity in commenting and the “people you may know” box.

Where is originality?

P.s. Why – when clicking “cancel account” – was I asked whether I’d like my full name to appear on my soon-to-be-gone profile?  Logic fail. :D

P.p.s. I also deleted my Twitter account and some other accounts.  Similary due to inactivity – although Twitter was a more spur of the moment thing .  So yep, I went on an account cancelling frenzy. :P 2

  1. Should get an award for being the most productive user.  Joke. :P []
  2. Oops, a little off topic, heh. []

In the words of the Terminator (is it?  Don’t watch a lot of films):  I’ll be back. :D

I’m going to Hong Kong!  Woo.  I’ve been wanting to go back for a year now so when news broke, I couldn’t have been more happier.

Before that trip though I have to complete four projects:

  1. Knife project – the bandsaw is unbelievably slow;
  2. Ring project – I’m making a ring, and keeping a journal on how to mount1;
  3. Photoshop – I’ve been doing most of the work at home so hopefully I’ve achieved what they wanted;
  4. Presentation – Mine’s after the holiday but I want to get it done well before the Easter holidays and my trip to HK.  For those who are interested I’ll be waffling about recycling.

Incidentally, I could just forget all that and just think about what I’m going to do when I’m at Hong Kong. :P   Maybe not, grades matter too much.

It’s been quite sometime since I’ve actually posted anything about my projects.  that’s because nothing exciting has been happening.  There’s just something about this year which doesn’t really excite me; I realise that I’m not as enthused as I was the first two years.  That’s probably down to the fact that not a lot has been new to me.  Anyway let’s continue on:

Monday – Had the usual seminar, then in afternoon I had a lesson on Photoshop.

Tuesday is probably my favourite uni. day of the week as we are learning how to mount1.  I bought some more gemstones but that wasn’t entirely my fault…okay, it was but I’ll post about that another time.  ;)

Wednesday – Went to work.

Thursday – Improved on my design, of a pizza/herb cutting wheel, a bit more.  Made a final prototype to make sure that the handle was comfy and big enough for most hand sizes.

Friday – Got the aluminium pressing tool2.  Waited to use the bandsaw.  Did use it just before the end of lunch…oh…my…it is slow.  Let another classmate use it as she was before me on the queue list.  Waited…and waited…no joy.  Worked in my sketchbook instead.

Saturday – Went shopping to get some new shoes.  My Etnies decided to give up on life.  Strange that, considering I usually own a pair of shoes for two years before they break.  Brought a tee instead – it has multi-coloured owls wearing large black-framed glasses.  Then at the bottom it says: “Nerds are cool”.  Listened to The Bucks go on to win 4-0.  Yippee.  :)   Went out to eat.  The food took a long time but at least the chef had the decency to come out and apologise.  Is it sad that I get impressed, therefore chirpy, about customer service?

Sunday (today) – Kept an eye on the Carling Cup Final.  United won, can’t comment on the game as I recieved a dodgy signal.  Two cups this season and counting – hopefully.  Now? I’m off to wash the dished before getting my weekly dosage of Supernatural.

That’s the usual message I get when a friend/family get a new mobile, therefore also pertaining a new number.  However my number is no different.  Thankfully.

So, it’s that time of the year again.  I’ve upgraded my mobile (much better contract I must say) and received it today – just as well since my other one was starting to give up on life, ha.

Actually, this time last year I was ranting about mobiles.  I’m happier a lot this time round.  Not because of the actual mobile though.  Oddly enough I was more happy with the customer service given rather than the actual phone.  The guy was really helpful and offered a contract and mobile, which catered to my needs; the bog standard calling and text-ing function.  The most shocking thing was he provided me with his name; usually I have to ask for the person’s name – you know, so if something goes wrong I know who to point the finger at.  :P   I don’t think I’ve ever witnessed that in my life.

Makes me wonder why company representives are reluctant to give their name consistently?  Does this also happen where you live?

[Edit 19:53] Oh, for those who might be interested, I got a Sony Ericsson W890i.
