This method will ensure that you don’t spend a lot of money on jewellery cleaning products, and find that it is ineffective.

To clean silver (I have not yet tested it on other precious metals) all you need to do is:

• Fill half a glass jar with warm water
• Put a stripe of aluminium foil into the water
• Add 1 teaspoon of salt
• Then, finally put your jewellery into the concoction
• For any pieces with stubborn tarnish just repeat the process

There you have it.  Home made jewellery cleaner with little, or any, money spent.
